Self Initiated Project Week 2

While producing different designs I was researching ideas of futuristic environments whether it is a dystopia or a utopia and how they would be presented.

while producing multiple designs I decided to develop it and produce it in a graphical format . The first couple of designs revolved around landscapes which was used to a evoke a sense of dread. I intentionally made it clean so the audience would feel as though something isn’t quite right with the buildings being displayed. This was my idea of a dystopia by giving a sense of isolation and loneliness

one thing I am contemplating is adding more stuff in the building so the area would feel more alive rather Than it feeling like a logo.

The other design I made was  a figure that has a chip that more of a foundation of what I was researching. I was looking into the idea of A.Is and thinking of how they would be implemented, one of which would be a chip that would be used for Memory Alteration or Surveillance

 

 

 

Introduction toYear 3 Self Initiated Project Week 1

The first day back was a minor task on the first day back for third year.

Put into groups. had to calculate a budget for a particular project or tutor took part I was supposed to teach us how expensive some methods of making stuff are. e.g. printing lihtography  is outside of uni.The session was a way of preparing us outside of uni.including this in assessment

 

The theme of my project was based on the idea of the future. What was initially aiming to achieve was to manipulate redundant objects such as VHS and Fax machines and making them less obsolete. I then looked at films for reference such as 2001 a space odyssey, Terminator , Blade runner as they all involved incorporating objets and products and predicting how they would become in the future.

I made sketches on types of objets on how they would become.

 

At first I wanted to make a Illustration piece but I wanted to bring the object to life

 

it led to me contemplate  to make a 3d model but was very unsure due to the fact that its the first time I’m attempting to make something like this

I also noticed another thing they had in common was A.I and I wanted to develop this project into something that involved A.I

*Inserting chips regarding subjects such as surveillance

*Virtual reality

The outcome i’m intending to make is more of a 2d illustration that would predict how a product or object would turn out 10,20 years from now
